AQUARIUS ROOM

This is the largest of the Inn’s event spaces, accommodating up to 150 guests. The set-up is flexible and can be designed according to your event needs. Aquarius is our most popular wedding venue. It sets up beautifully for an indoor ceremony, with large white pillars framing the room. It has a very neutral palette to accommodate any color scheme. It is also a preferred space for anniversaries and company holiday parties.

Please note that all evening events at the Inn must end by 10 pm as we may also have Inn guests seeking quiet evening hours.

PEGASUS BARN

Constructed in 1897, this is the perfect barn venue in Northern Michigan for a dream-come-true wedding. This truly centennial barn was completely renovated in 2013 to create an event space allowing us to host various social gatherings. The rustic backdrop of the original barn wood walls and solid wood floors are perfect for wedding ceremonies, receptions, parties, and groups looking for a unique and beautiful space. The four large posts that hold up the cathedral-like high ceilings create an ideal dance floor for first dances on wedding days. An attached covered patio opens to a grand view of the property and extends down to a grassy courtyard with a fire pit and open areas for guests to mingle or play yard games.

The attached bathroom facilities are handicap accessible. The maximum capacity in the barn is 150 guests, with plenty of parking. This venue has become a favorite for many as it is open to various options and setups. Seasonal use is from late spring until mid-fall, typically May through October.

SCENIC HILLTOP VINEYARD

Our Hilltop Vineyard is the most beautiful and popular site for outdoor wedding ceremonies. It is also ideal for private wine-paired dinners, parties, or summer BBQs. The view is breathtaking, with a dramatic backdrop of sweeping vineyards and West Grand Traverse Bay views. This spectacular site can accommodate various wedding ceremony setups and special event options. We recently brought power up to the top of the vineyard and invested in a landscaped area for a more manicured look between the vines. If a rustic atmosphere is more your style, many places within the vines can also host your plans.

Parking is available at the site, so guests or shuttles can easily arrive. The site’s use is weather dependent, and your Black Star Farms event staff will work with you to provide a backup location if needed. Bathroom facilities are currently not available and would need to be rented if required for your event.

BISTRO POLARIS

The Bistro Polaris is a cozy restaurant with indoor dining and a spacious outdoor patio on the Black Star Farms Suttons Bay estate. The restaurant is an excellent venue for smaller parties of up to 40 people. It is perfect for rehearsal dinners, birthday parties, holiday parties, and groups looking for dining while touring the Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail.

COVERED PATIO

This outdoor site, accessed from the Arcturos and Aquarius event rooms, is located behind the Inn and features a beautifully landscaped courtyard with an ornate rock wall full of seasonal annual and perennial flowers. It is quiet and private and has a view of the terraced vineyard and lush forest.

STONE PATIO

This private outdoor site is right off our Inn, attached to the Aquarius room, and surrounded by lush woods. A raised platform altar sets up perfectly for a memorable walk down the aisle, and a charming treehouse is tucked up in the trees.

BARN COURTYARD

This private outdoor site is off the back of the Pegasus Barn, with sweeping views of the farm and horse paddocks. Enjoy cocktails and dinner on the raised patio, or relish in the warmth of a fire under a starry night in the courtyard.

BRIDAL SUITE

This private room in our Inn is perfect for bridal parties that do not have onsite overnight accommodations. It features six dressing chairs, two lounge chairs, dress hooks, and ample mirrors.
